Been busy studying... but it's been great following everybody else's blogs! Anyway, at last... got to the last unit of M337 - The Mandelbrot Set. This Processing app draws the Julia set associated with points in the Mandelbrot set. It was great to see for myself that the maths in the unit actually does work!

Looks pretty complicated, it would surely benefit from a separate control panel (I'm not keen on controlP5 but the control panel in ruby-processing is pretty good).
I'll put a control panel thing in the next version. I don't know Ruby... I think I've reached saturation point with languages now. If I learn Ruby I'll have to make room by forgetting one.

If you get round to looking at context free, there is a variant ContextFree3D implemented in java recent link on cfdg discussion pages http://www.contextfreeart.org/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=571
On of their tutorial/examples is a julia set (you need to run the gui to access tutorials).
“Knock, knock.”
“Who’s there?”
very long pause….
“Ruby.”
Ruby who?
